Oh it's summer time. The air is getting warmer, the days are getting longer, and bikini contests are popping up everywhere. But none of these contest can hold a candle to the annual Twin Peaks Bikini Contest. Let's face it, you didn't click on this blog post to see me ramble on and on about the extremely difficult day Eric and I had at Dallas Cowboys Stadium watching 515 cheerleading hopefuls battle for 11 spots on the coveted roster. You could probably careless about this being the first round of auditions, with 2 more still to go. You also probably don't care that while we were slaving away, we were also covering the auditions for the Dallas Observer.

Monica & Wil....I don't know where to begin. I guess I'll start out by saying THANK YOU for not only letting Eric and I shoot your wedding, but THANK YOU for an amazing night that I will always remember. I've shot a lot of weddings over the last few years, but I can't remember ever having this much fun! It's always enjoyable shooting for a client that is laid back and spends more time focusing on having a good time then worrying about the little annoying nuances that may arise during your big wedding day. I know for a fact that Eric, Lindsay, and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and not once did we ever feel like we were there "to do a job". So once again THANK YOU!

Last October a few friends and I headed for Sin City, Las Vegas, Nevada for a few days of relaxation and fun in the desert. Little did I know that my friend and co-worker Wil was also heading out there at the same time with his girlfriend for a little bit of same. My goal for SXSW this year was just to go down there, wonder aimlessly, and just see what we happened upon (see yesterday's post here). The only thing we had in stone was making it to The Main Friday night to see The Artery Foundation Showcase featuring A Lot Like Birds, Chunk! No, Captain Chunk!, For The Fallen Dreams, Attila, Woe Is Me, Chelsea Grin and A Skylit Drive.

This was Skylit's final show of SXSW before they packed up and headed to Dallas for SXSWhat the following day.

South by Southwest is a chaotic orgy of sensory overload that leaves your body and mind pummeled for days. Over 90 venues and 2000 artists turn downtown Austin into the largest music festival for 5 days every year. It's a music nerd's nirvana.

This past Sunday, Swedish heavy metal band, In Flames return to Dallas in support of their latest release Sounds of a Playground Fading with Trivium, Veil the Maya, and Kyng along for the ride. Each of the opening bands did a pretty decent job warming up the crowd, but for me, this night was all about finally seeing In Flames after gaining knowledge of them in 2003.  Well that's kind of misleading, I did see them at Ozzfest in 2005 on the side stage, but seeing a band in the parking lot of an amplitheater with crappy sound and a 20 minute set really doesn't count as seeing them. I digress.
