SXSW 2013: Bigger, Faster, Stronger!

March 19, 2013 in Commercial Work, Concerts

So here we go again, another year where the entire music industry takes over downtown Austin for 6 days of absolute chaos. At any given time through out the year there are more music venues in Austin then any other city in North America, during South By Southwest that number triples, with any open area becoming a stage or a spot for bands to play. Bands from all over the planet make their way to Austin in hopes of making an impression and changing their careers; their lives, forever.

2013 marked the 27th year of the conferences existence, and it proved to be the biggest. Spreading to both sides of I-35 and both shores of Lady Bird Lake, the confines of downtown were no longer the boundaries. Add major label artist flocking to the conference in droves, this wasn't the same old SXSW.

Eric and I headed down for Friday's festivities with no set destinations or plans for the day. We decided to roll with punches and see what we got ourselves into. Below are the the photos from the day, our 20 hours trapped in a musical orgy of sight and sound.

We made a quick stop in Round Rock to say hello to my cousin Jeremie and a few old friends.
