When your best friend asks you to come over and shoot her maternity photos you naturally show up with a whole bunch of milk and tell her to hop in the bathtub, right?!? Well that's what we did and they came out awesome. And of course we had to get some silly silhouette shots too! Congrats to Shelby and Chris and the beautiful baby girl they brought into this world!Read More

Henry The Archer printed some new shirts and needed some quick promo shots showing off the new style. I called up our friend Savannah and had her come over so I could snap a few pics. From concept to completion this probably took less then an hour, easily one of the quickest shoots I have ever thrown together. And the results, well you can see below:Read More
The scene was a little crazy. Hours had passed and in that time we had been searched by the Secret Service, ATF, and a pair of bomb sniffing dogs. Then we were sequestered from area to area around the Verizon Center as preparations for the days activities were made. But all that had passed, and now I was sitting down in the dining room watching Jessie Frye scarf down a slice of pizza that she had been waiting hours to enjoy. Victory. The sweet taste of victory.
Just minutes earlier she was onstage performing stripped down versions of her songs Big Bad Wolf and One In Million, with temporary guitarist Dustin Fleming (Vandoliers),to over 9000 screaming Bernie Sanders fans in front of them. Some of those fans singing the chorus of the later song back to her. A once in a lifetime opportunity had been made available, opening for a Democratic Presidential Candidate on his North Texas stop, and Jessie and Dustin had delivered.Read More
A band, a field, smoke, and a raw approach. A simple concept drawn on a bar napkin turned into the image above. And Henry the Archer was the perfect band to accomplish it.
Henry the Archer is the brain child of native New Jersey boy Richard Hennessy. Last year Richard was given the opportunity to transfer his job down to Fort Worth, Texas, so he made his way down south with the hopes of keeping Henry the Archer alive. Shortly after arriving he joined forces with Kevin Geist on drums, and Matt Hembree on bass to round out a three piece of post punk and sex pop.Read More
Tasha, Tasha, Tasha. If I could take anyone with me on any shoot ever, it would be this amazing girl! Saying it was fun shooting with her would be an understatement, I had a blast. It was a great way to cap off a crazy day of shooting down in Austin, and I can't wait to shoot her again!Read More
While down in Austin I also did some work with Gaby's younger sister Denisse and greatness must run in their bloodline! Just like Gaby, Denisse is sweet, extremely nice and a complete pleasure to work with. We had a fun time running around The Domain at night playing with the different lighting in that environment.Read More
I really don't know where to begin with Gaby, she's absolutely incredible. Not only is she completely stunning, but she's also one of the nicest and sweetest girls in the world. I've had the pleasure of doing a handful of shoots with her now, and I've had an amazing time on everyone of them. She's the perfect example of what every photographer dreams of working with. Thank you Gaby for being totally awesome, and I can't wait to do more work with you!Read More
993.... I was a young angst fueled teenager that was obsessed with fast and noisy punk rock music . The louder and faster, the better, but I was also becoming more and more interested in the North Texas music scene. Local radio station, KDGE The Edge would occasionally release a CD entitled Tales From The Edge that would in the end, consist of 11 volumes that were curated by DJ/Music Director George Gimarc. Each volume focused on music and bands from North Texas with a slight dabbling into the Austin music scene.Read More
About 3 years ago after an Eye Was Once Eaten practice, Matt Stubbs threw out the idea of starting a podcast. Now there are a lot of ideas (some of them rather insane) thrown around during a band practice, but this one actually stuck with me. I have been an avid listener to podcasts for several years now, mostly tech and political conspiracy style shows, but doing one our self seemed like a fun idea. Unfortunately between my family, photography, and being in a band there wasn't much time to try and fit a podcast in.Read More
When I was in high school spending my weekends discovering and following local bands, there was a band that I encountered one weekend that blew my mind. That band was Brutal Juice. Their music was an angst filled teenagers wet dream and they are now considered a legendary, integral part of the Denton and D/FW music scene in the 90's. Lead singer Craig Welch's on stage antics were the definition of insanity; smashing bottles and snuffing out cigarettes on his head, dancing around like a mad man on LSD, and gazing into the eyes of audience members with an intensity that would burn through them. All of this going on while a pummeling force of music was pulsating and churning behind him, Brutal Juice was acid punk fueled by rage, narcotics, and hysteria.Read More
So when you have two good friends that are expecting a baby you automatically get a free pass to use and abuse them how you see fit, right? It also helps if they are almost as crazy or deranged as you.Read More
So two of my good friends decided to see if they could do their part in populating the planet and extending the future of the human race. And to all of our amazement they succeeded! Yay! And what do you do when one of your good friends suddenly has a humanoid expanding her waist line? You photograph her, and then come up with crazy uncomfortable photoshoot ideas that most normal people would find bizarre and fill your email box up with borderline angry comments. But for right now, let's stick with the normal photos.Read More
Our final morning in the Mara, our final morning in Kenya, and what would be the longest travel day(s) of my life.
The morning began with the tent zipper being opened by our butler bringing us tea and biscuits for our morning wake up call, this had become a ritual for us. But this was our last day, and I didn't want to get out of bed. I didn't want to leave the Mara and I knew that once I was up and going the day would be a whirlwind, and it would be 40+ hours before I'd get decent sleep again.Read More
I've fallen behind with my posts on this trip, I was hoping my schedule wouldn't be this crazy when I returned from Africa. But you know what they say about idle minds.....
Our day began just before sunrise as we all met up at "the meeting" spot before loading into our Land Rovers. It was a crisp cool morning and todays hunt was for the elusive leopard and a big male lion. As exited out of the back gate of camp we didn't have to go further then a couple of hundred yards to see our favorite pride of cats.Read More
After getting ready at the hotel and doing some quick studio shooting (see yesterday's post) we headed off to the restaurant in a stretched Hummer Limo in what I can only describe as the most out of control 10 miles I've ever traveled! When we arrived at the restaurant it was bursting at the seams.Read More
Once again, it's that time of year. The days get longer, the temperature gets hotter, and the bikini's come out. Yep, It's full on bikini season and what a better way to kick it off then with the annual Twin Peaks Bikini Contest!
This year we did something a little different for the girls at the Round Rock Twin Peaks restaurant; we all met up at the Hilton Garden Suites and set up shop. The girls got their hair and make-up done by Christina Shepek, Stacy Shepek, and Andrea Fernandez, and then got a quick little photo shoot by Eric Garcia and myself.Read More
So our 12 hour day of fun and laughter came to a close with RaChelle. I had drawn up a makeup idea a few weeks earlier after I had purchased a few sets of crazy costume eyelashes, and I wasn't sure who to use it on. I knew Christina could easily pull the idea off, but it wasn't until RaChelle said that she was 'in' that I knew who to use it for. Her blonde hair and bright eyes helped the turquoise blue of the makeup almost leap off of her skin. The final outcome was electric!Read More
So now we come to Monica, who showed up ready to party with her 1920's style Flapper dress and long filtered fake cigarette. Her hair was an idea that Christina was dying to do, a nice simple teased up bun. The makeup came from a mixture ofRead More
Continuing with the theme of the last couple of posts, it's Jennifer's time to shine. I honestly don't remember where the concept of her makeup and hair came from, you tend to forget things when you put off your blog, ha. Although I do remember seeing lips made up like this on some models during Colorado Fashion Week, the rest I'm going to say was all Christina.Read More
